Doggos

We love dogs, but we don't know that all of our customers do. There's always going to be someone that will take a disliking to our furry friends in the cafe. They are also the type of people that won't say anything to us at the time but will lodge an anonymous complaint with Health & Safety. Fun.

Technically they should not be allowed in food service areas, but that would be most of The Cannery, so not sure where the line is drawn. Because of this we need to follow these guidelines:

  • People with dogs need to be on the outside of the tenancy, which includes seating positions CT3, CT4, T3, T4 & CT7-9

  • No dogs on laps/eating on the table

  • Discourage customers from feeding dogs at the table

  • We do not provide water. It's not only unhygienic, it's messy.

  • Dogs need to be kept quiet and still, so as not to annoy other patrons.

If you have a customer that wants to be difficult about our dog policy, you can politely remind them that it's a privilege, not an entitlement to allow dogs in eating areas. The policy is in place to ensure that dogs don't impact other diners (who might not want dogs next to them while eating) and to allow dog owners to dine in at the same time. If they continue to be difficult, suggest that they grab takeaway and sit in the common area.

If you pat dogs, please make a point of visibly washing your hands well, before touching anything else.
