Service Description

Matt Uramoto is an eight year veteran of the coffee industry. Most of his career has been with the leading US based specialty coffee company, Blue Bottle Coffee. Working primarily out of Los Angeles, he’s also spent time working with cafe teams in San Francisco, Tokyo, and Sydney. Over the years, he’s trained dozens of people with skill sets that range from zero to coffee veteran; finding most fulfilment sharing his coffee knowledge and building confidence in those with whom he works. This course is designed to lay a foundation of technical pour over coffee skills balanced with brew theory. The technical skills are thoughtfully laid out and easy to practice at home. The theory side of the course will explain how to effect change in coffee flavour. We’ll discuss why coffee can taste sour or bitter and you’ll learn how to adjust your technique to your taste preferences. The content covered is concise, and yet comprehensive. Novices will leave with a solid jumping off point. Coffee veterans will have a more full understanding behind why and how our decisions affect the final cup. The course price includes a bag of single origin coffee, for you to continue your brewing at home.
